One-to-a-part Day (Birnam)

A one-to-a-part playing day for intermediate woodwind (flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon - approx. Grade 4 - 6+), offering the opportunity to work in both a small and a larger group.  There will be individual parts throughout.

There will be a maximum of 10 players, who will be divided into two groups for part of the day. This will be achieved by staggering lunch and coffee breaks, so that the groups are never working without the support of a tutor.

Places for each instrument will be limited, to ensure a reasonable balance within the ensemble.  These will be allocated by ballot.

Practice copies of music should be available at least a week before the event.

When and where?
Wednesday 6th November 2019, 10am - 5pm (approx.)
Birnam Arts Centre, Station Road, Birnam, Dunkeld, PH8 0DS
Applications accepted from 2nd Sept

Make-your-own tea, instant coffee and biscuits available free.  Players are expected to make their own arrangements for lunch (but the centre has a very nice cafe!)

How to apply

All applications should be made by e-mail ( )  Booking opens on Monday 2nd September and remains open until noon on Friday 20th September.  Places will then be allocated by ballot.  Players can expect to hear whether they have been successful in obtaining a place by early the following week.

If you are offered a place, we would expect your payment for the course in order to confirm your acceptance.

In the event of a booked player subsequently finding that he/she is unable to attend, let us know as soon as possible.  If the place can be filled by an unsuccessful applicant, we would refund the course fee minus a £5 administration charge.
