Short Courses
Trona tutors a number of short courses throughout the year, mostly on behalf of the host venues.
Dates planned so far for 2026 are as follows:
Wind & Water Weekend on the Isle of Skye: 5th – 7th June 2026
A light-hearted weekend of music making and camaraderie on the fabulous Isle of Skye. Designed for wind players whose enthusiasm perhaps outweighs their expertise, this is a cross between a wind chamber orchestra and a small band. Repertoire is varied, with a water/island theme.

Blow! Intermediate Woodwind: 15th – 17th July 2026
A light-hearted woodwind event designed to build confidence and improve ensemble skills. This course is intended for players of flute, oboe, clarinet or bassoon, at around Grade 3 – 6 standard. Repertoire consists of light classical and traditional pieces.
Please note that course dates are midweek this year.
Late–Starters’ Mini-Orchestra for C Woodwind and Strings: 14th – 16th August 2026
Lacking confidence, very rusty or not used to playing with others? This easy/improver-level weekend is for you! Enjoy making music with others in our mini-orchestra.
